Introducing the SCHLAGE brand

SCHLAGE SILLETSCHlogo

Founded in 1920 in the United States, SCHLAGE Security Technology (China) Co., Ltd. is a global provider of commercial and civil security products and services for electronic access control solutions and biometric technology

Born in a small town in central Germany, Sylöch, once known as the "magician locksmith of Thuringia", was not only a master mechanic and inventor, but also an adventurer. At the age of 14, Syllegge was recommended by his father to join the famous Carl Chase (Zeiss) optical instrument factory. During his four-year apprenticeship there, Syllegge learned to draw, assemble mechanical parts, and engineer. His father owned a hotel in Thuringia, and every time he looked at the passing passengers, he couldn't suppress his curiosity about the outside world. Finally, one day, a strong desire for adventure drove him to leave Germany for London. After a short stay in London for a year, he did not hesitate to board a ship bound for the United States, where he found a job at the Western Electric Company, where engineers were recruited for ships between Brazil, the West Indies and Central America. Eventually, he stopped in San Francisco and joined Western Power again.

One was a brilliant inventor and the other was a sharp-minded businessman, and in 1927 two brilliant men joined forces to form the "Silöch Lock Company". They were Walter Schlage and Charles Kendrick.
