KONE's development in China
In China, KONE Elevator Co., Ltd. was established in December 1996 and is the most important elevator and escalator production base of KONE Group in the Asia-Pacific region. It has a factory in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of about 142,000 square meters.
Today, KONE Elevator Co., Ltd. has developed into one of the largest suppliers of elevators and escalators in China. At present, it has 37 branches (7 will be added in 2010), nearly 100 maintenance stations and more than 3,600 employees, and has built a nationwide sales and maintenance network. In addition, KONE Elevator Co., Ltd. has also established two large joint ventures in China, KONE Huazhi Escalator Industry Co., Ltd. and GiantKONE Elevator Co., Ltd.
KONE Elevator Co., Ltd., with the world's leading environmental protection and energy-saving technology, perfectly fits the theme of the 2008 Olympic Games - "Green, Technology and Humanity", and has demonstrated its strength in the construction of the Beijing Olympic Project and has become the largest supplier of elevator equipment for the 2008 Olympic Games-related construction projects.
