Jilin Carbon Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jilin Carbon) is one of the important carbon production enterprises in China, its predecessor is one of the 156 key projects built during the national "First Five-Year Plan" period, which began to be built in 1952 and completed and put into operation in 1955, enjoying the reputation of "the cradle of China's carbon industry". The growth history of the enterprise has witnessed the development of the national industry of the Republic and cultivated a large number of talents for the carbon industry in New China. In 2006, it was reorganized with China Steel Corporation. In October 2015, according to the spirit of the "Guiding Opinions on Deepening the Reform of State-owned Enterprises" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, Jilin Carbon has become a mixed-ownership enterprise with 70% of Zhongze Holding Group Co., Ltd. and 30% of Sinosteel Co., Ltd.
Jilin carbon products mainly include graphite electrodes, graphite anodes, carbon blocks, special carbon products, carbon fiber products, etc., which are widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, machinery, electronics, medical treatment, scientific research, military industry, aerospace and new materials and other fields, and are sold to more than 300 enterprises in various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, and exported to more than 40 countries and regions in Europe, America, Southeast Asia, Oceania, Africa and other countries. The company's domestic market share is about 18%, and overseas exports account for about 23% of similar products in China. So far, Jilin Carbon has produced nearly 5 million tons of carbon products, achieved a total industrial output value of about 24 billion yuan, paid profits and taxes of nearly 3 billion yuan, earned foreign exchange from exports of about 890 million US dollars, cultivated more than 10,000 carbon talents, and created the first Chinese well-known trademark "Ji Tan" brand in the industry.
As a new product research and development center, new technology application center, product testing center and export product commodity inspection center in China's carbon industry, Jilin Carbon has the only national technology center in the industry, and has a laboratory accredited by China Conformity Assessment and National Accreditation Service (CNAS).
