Headquartered in London, BP is one of the world's leading oil and gas companies, with production and operations in more than 70 countries around the world, including oil and gas exploration and production; oil refining and sales; production and sales of petrochemical products; and lubricants business. BP employs approximately 80,000 people worldwide and the company's shares are traded on the London and New York stock exchanges.

BP has been operating in China since the early 70s and is one of the leading foreign-invested enterprises in the domestic oil and gas industry. BP's main business activities in China include: oil and gas exploration and development, petrochemical production and sales, jet fuel supply, refined oil retail, lubricants business, oil and gas supply and trading, LNG terminals and gas mains, and chemical technology licensing.

BP has also joined hands with Chinese partners to go abroad and enter a broader field of cooperation. We have fruitful cooperation with PetroChina in Iraq and Australia, Sinopec in Angola and Singapore, CNOOC in Australia, Indonesia and Argentina, and China Aviation Oil in Singapore.

BP regularly publishes the BP World Energy Statistical Yearbook and BP World Energy Outlook, which are widely cited as one of the world's most reliable sources of energy data.

BP is also committed to contributing to China's social development, and has been working with Chinese partners for many years to participate in and address the social issues facing China's sustainable development, and has been actively involved in joint scientific and technological research and development in the field of energy, especially in clean energy, in cooperation with research institutions. To date, BP has invested more than US$50 million in social welfare in China. BP's CSR practices have been recognized by all sectors of society and have won numerous awards.
