The predecessor of the group company is Luzhou Natural Gas Chemical Plant, which was founded in 1959 in Naxi District, Luzhou City, and has 44 subsidiaries at all levels, including Sichuan Lutianhua Co., Ltd., with total assets of 19.6 billion yuan, 12,300 on-the-job personnel, 4,800 retired employees, and an income of 4.984 billion yuan in 2014. Lutianhua Group has formed a product structure based on basic chemicals and supplemented by fine chemicals, and is the main backbone enterprise in Luzhou City, of which urea production capacity accounts for 40% of the province. At the same time, it has a number of business operations such as mining, chemical production, sales, scientific research, design, manufacturing, construction, installation, and service, with an annual production capacity of 4.35 million tons of coal, 1.3 million tons of synthetic ammonia, 2.1 million tons of urea, 750,000 tons of methanol, 110,000 tons of dimethyl ether, 50,000 tons of oleochemicals, 520,000 tons of nitro series products, 100,000 tons of diesel vehicle exhaust treatment fluid, 85,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, 46,000 tons of polytetrahydrofuran project, 30,000 tons of melamine, etc. It is the largest natural gas-to-fertilizer enterprise in China.
