The predecessor of Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. is Guizhou Hongfu Industrial Development Co., Ltd., and its main body, Guizhou Wengfu Mineral Fertilizer Base, is one of the five major phosphate fertilizer bases built during the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" and "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period. The construction of Wengfu Mineral Fertilizer Base started in 1990 and was completed and put into operation in 2000. In 2008, Hongfu Corporation changed its name to Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 4.088 billion yuan. With Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. as the core enterprise, it has established more than 10 wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries, including Wengfu International Trade Co., Ltd., Wengfu Dazhou Chemical Co., Ltd., Wengfu Zijin Chemical Co., Ltd., Gansu Wengfu Chemical Co., Ltd., Guizhou Wengfu Trading Co., Ltd., Guizhou Wengfu Lantian Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd., Singapore Meilu Industrial Co., Ltd., Wengfu Australia Company, Wengfu Arabia Co., Ltd. (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), as well as joint-stock companies, Other member companies form the Wengfu Group.
Development status
After more than 20 years of construction and development, Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. has now become a large state-owned enterprise integrating phosphate rock mining, phosphorus compound fertilizer, phosphorus and sulfur coal chemical industry, fluorine iodine chemical production, scientific research, international and domestic trade, industry technology and operation services, and international engineering general contracting. The company has 820 million tons of geological reserves of high-quality phosphate rock resources and 580 million tons of industrial reserves. In 2011, the company's total assets were 14.9 billion yuan, forming an annual production capacity of 5 million tons of phosphate rock, 1.5 million tons of phosphoric acid, 2 million tons of sulfuric acid, 3.5 million tons of phosphorus compound fertilizer, 160,000 tons of industrial and food phosphoric acid, 150,000 tons of sodium tripolyphosphate, 100 tons of iodine, 20,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, and the annual transportation capacity of self-provided railway special lines exceeded 5 million tons. The company has more than 4,500 employees. Since it was put into production, Wengfu has developed at an average annual rate of more than 30%. In 2011, the sales revenue exceeded 24.4 billion yuan, and the per capita labor productivity exceeded 3 million yuan.
The group has now formed four major production and R&D bases with Guizhou as the core and Jinchang in Gansu, Dazhou in Sichuan and Shanghang in Fujian as the support. Guizhou Qiannan Base is a processing and technology research and development base for phosphate rock mining, high-concentration phosphorus compound fertilizer, phosphorus chemical industry, fluoro-iodine chemicals, and waste resource utilization, as well as a model factory for Wengfu to provide technology, engineering construction and operation management services. Jinchang in Gansu, Dazhou in Sichuan and Shanghang in Fujian Province have built chemical fertilizer bases respectively based on the principle of complementary advantages and optimal allocation of resources, and have made full use of the phosphorus resources of Wengfu and the advantages of local raw materials and location, forming a complete industrial layout.
The company has passed the certification of ISO9000 quality system and ISO14000 environmental system, and in 2006, it became the first fertilizer enterprise in China to pass the Australian animal and plant inspection and quarantine certification, and its products sell well in more than 30 countries and regions, and the domestic market network covers all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
