Kobelco's compressor business began at the beginning of the last century and has a long history of nearly 100 years, and since the production of Japan's first high-pressure reciprocating compressor in 1915, Kobelco has been accurately grasping the needs of the times and has been proposing various new compressor production solutions. In 1956, we successfully introduced Japan's first oil-free screw air compressor to the market. In addition, since 1966, it has been involved in the production of centrifugal compressors, and has become one of the very few comprehensive compressor manufacturers in the world (the only one in Japan) that can independently produce reciprocal, screw, centrifugal process compressors and air compressors.
In order to expand the market for general-purpose compressors in China, we will build a system that integrates local production, sales, and service in China, and reduce product costs through local production. In 2000, Kobelco Compressor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established to provide Japan's top compressor products to China by import and provide related after-sales services. In 2004, Kobelco Compressor Manufacturing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Jiading Industrial Zone, Shanghai, realizing the R&D and production of compressors and related parts localized in China. Kobelco has been sparing no effort in developing more energy-efficient products, such as the world's largest displacement and the highest energy efficiency, the oil-free screw compressor Kobelion-II (which has obtained the Shanghai energy-saving product certification), and the Emeraude-ALE, an oil-free screw compressor with the highest performance and energy efficiency, which embodies Kobelco's half-century development technology of oil-free engines, have achieved local production in Shanghai. In 2010, the local production and sales of KOBELION-XG series large oil-cooled air compressors were realized.
