MOBIUS - Agency Reviews

Mobius focuses on horror themes and has an excellent reputation in Wuhan. The founder studied film directing, so the backroom environment in the store is very graphic, making people feel like they are in a movie. Interestingly, the environment of the building where Morbius is located is also more peculiar. Scenes such as cluttered passages, slightly abandoned stalled escalators, and exposed reinforced concrete stimulate every player who comes at night and has not yet entered the store, rendering a great atmosphere for the next terrifying escape.

Although Morbius uses terror as the core of the secret room design, it starts more from the atmosphere than the "horror and toughness" of the southwest. Compared with the purely scary haunted house, the immersive horror room requires the player to take the role of the character and think about the details of the plot, which has the effect of thinking carefully and terrifying. "Nameless Female Corpse" is the only theme in the store equipped with real NPCs, and the "ghosts" that appear at any time become a time bomb of fear in the hearts of players. The theme is set in the coroner's father and son dissecting the corpse of an unknown woman sent by the police station, both of whom died mysteriously in the autopsy room that night, and the new police officer (player) needs to unravel the secret. The puzzles are more difficult, but fortunately, the room lights are bright for most of the game, so they don't add to the horror atmosphere, so players can see the puzzles and think calmly. It should be noted that there are single-player missions in the game, and the horror index is higher. NPCs only appear when needed to advance the story, and do not interfere with the player's problem solving. Compared with real NPCs, the store has added strange designs in some scenes, adding invisible psychological pressure to players, and the horror experience is more immersive.

With the same level of picture sense as "Nameless Female Corpse", "Green Hospital", the plot is complete and full, although there are no real NPCs, but the sound effects render a strong horror atmosphere. If the player is only busy "getting out", they may ignore the plot. The difficulty of the puzzle is medium to high, and straightening out the normal working order of the mental hospital is the premise of smooth problem solving, otherwise there will be infinite stuck. There is a certain connection between the plots of several themes in the store, and "Sharon Rose" has the highest correlation with "Green Hospital". Unlike the latter, which has a terrifying scene, although "Sharon Rose" follows a dark fairy tale style, the plot is warm and has a multi-ending theme. The puzzles fit the plot well, and the scene layout is also very careful.

Unlike the first three themes, "Disappearing Tenant" was created by another designer, and is full of strong Hong Kong style, closer to the traditional secret room. The theme has multiple endings that are up to the player, but there's a special setting in the game that makes the endings erratic and fun. However, the theme is too simplistic for veteran players and is more suitable for newbie experiences.

If you're a long-time movie lover, Mobius is the perfect escape room for you. The boss pays tribute to many classic movies in the secret room, and there are countless easter eggs, which are enough to make people applaud. After the player clears the level, the boss will also enthusiastically tell the player interesting things such as the story background of the secret room, which will improve the overall game experience.
