Lumière Cinemas is invested by Lumière Films, which was founded in 2008 by cinemas in China and Hong Kong. The name of the cinema comes from the Lumière brothers, the inventors of the film and the movie projector, and the name was given in homage to the two brothers. Lumiere Cinemas CapitaLand 1818 Plaza is the only Lumiere Cinema in Wuhan and one of the high-quality cinemas in Wuhan.
Lumière has a total of 10 screening rooms, including the LD room, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people at the same time. Among them, the Lumière Digital Cinema (hereinafter referred to as the "LD Cinema") is the most prominent cinema hall of Lumière Cinemas, which gathers many world-class cinema technologies and is the brainchild of Lumière Cinemas. The LD Hall is equipped with the world's most advanced cinema audio and projection equipment, such as subwoofer vibration seats, Dolby Atmos, Barco laser projection equipment, and Real-D 3D cinema projection system, and is committed to creating more detailed and realistic viewing effects. Although the LD hall has a good viewing effect, in Wuhan, which has many high-level theaters, its advantages are still not as good as some cinemas with Dolby Cinemas and LUXE Cinemas.
There are many activities in the theater, and film festivals and creator meetings will be held from time to time. In 2017, the Lumiere Cinemas French Film Festival (Wuhan Station) was held, and a number of classic French films were screened in nearly two weeks. In addition, the theater has held meetings with the main creators of "Sunny Days", "Reverse Life" and "Lies Sicily", and domestic movie stars such as Xia Yu and Lee Joon-gi came to Lumière Cinema to communicate with fans.
Lumière Cinemas is located on the 7th floor of CapitaLand 1818 Plaza, which is very convenient for transportation, shopping and dining. The theater is fully equipped, and there is a jukebox in the waiting area to pass the time, but the disadvantage is that the waiting hall space is slightly narrow, and the automatic ticket machine is located in a biased position. The theater provides free 3D glasses, and you need to go to the main information desk on the first floor to get a parking ticket, which can be parked for free for three hours.
