Hongxing Primary School is one of the three major private primary schools in Hongkou and is known as the "Olympiad Cow School". Founded in 1996, it is located in the center of Quyang New Village, Hongkou District, surrounded by mostly old residential buildings. The school covers an area of 3,928 square meters and has a total of 3 laboratories and 12 dedicated classrooms. In 2016, Hongxing added an electronic reading room, a STEM innovation lab, a Microsoft digital space, a robot building room, etc., and the problem of aging hardware facilities has improved. By 2017, the school had a total of 51 full-time teachers, including 35 teachers with intermediate and senior professional titles, and 46 teachers with bachelor's degree or above.
Hongxing Primary School only recruits students in Hongkou District, and students with the first and second choices have the opportunity to meet face-to-face. In 2014, about 7 students from Hongxing Primary School were admitted to Huayu Middle School, ranking seventh among all private primary schools.
