Founded in 1989, the Children's World Foundation Putuo Kindergarten is a model kindergarten in Shanghai, a teaching practice base of East China Normal University, and an advanced experimental base for creative education of the China Creation Society. Over the years, Putuo Kindergarten has won the titles of Shanghai Advanced Collective of Education and Scientific Research, Advanced Collective of Childcare, and Green School of Putuo District. After several expansions, Putuo Kindergarten has four kindergartens: Zichang Garden, Ganquan No. 1 Park, Ganquan No. 2 Park and Gulang Garden, enrolling children aged 3-6 years.

Ecological and environmental protection education is a special course of Putuo Kindergarten, through Arbor Day, grass festival and other special activities to let children know the relationship between plants and human survival, understand the meaning of caring for the environment. Putuo Kindergarten now only enrolls small classes of students who are over 3 years old, and enrolls students according to the location, and the childcare fee is 700 yuan per month. The Education Bureau of Putuo District advocates free admission to the kindergarten and admission to the nearest school, so the vast majority of public kindergartens in Putuo District do not have interviews, and students are charged according to the enrollment scope divided by the Education Bureau.
