In October 2010, at No. 6 Doujiao Hutong near Nanluoguxiang, the first craft beer bar in Beijing officially opened to the public, that is, Great Leap Beer, its founders were a husband and wife, Gao Taishan from the United States and Liu Fang, a Chinese girl. Dayue Beer, which has just celebrated its 7th anniversary, is now quite large-scale, with three branches, namely Doujiao Hutong Store, Gongti Store and Xinyuan Street Store. Doujiao Hutong is one of the top 10 craft beer bars in Asia selected by CNN, Gongti won the title of Bar of the Year at the TimeOut Beijing 2016 Bar Awards, and Xinyuan Street was named TimeOut Beijing's Craft Beer Bar of the Year for two consecutive years. Great Leap has six beers available throughout the year, all of which are Chinese-style beers with distinctive names. Unlike Kyo A, which uses a large number of imported hops, the use of local hops and local ingredients for brewing is a brewing proposition that Great Leap is proud of. Great Leap's first beer was inspired by Sichuan peppercorns, and Gao Taishan used Sichuan peppercorns and honey under the Great Wall to brew beer, creating Great Leap's highest-selling signature beer to date, Fuzi Beer, which has a refreshing taste with a slight peppercorn flavor and the sweetness of honey. Banana Wheat is a white beer loved by many wine lovers, using 100% local Chinese wheat and barley malt, it smells obvious banana aroma, the body is clear, the entrance is sweet and smooth, if you don't know how to drink, then ordering a glass of banana wheat is not a wrong choice. Drinking friends with a certain ability to appreciate can choose the young marshal IPA with more prominent characteristics. This is an Indian pale ale brewed with Chinese hops, named after the patriotic general Zhang Xueliang, with an alcohol content of 6.5%, a high bitterness index, a full body, and a bitter aftertaste. Stout is full-bodied than Ale, and the malt is roasted and usually has a chocolate or coffee flavor. Named after the father of the founder Liu Fang, Liu Yong's black beer, this stout is brewed from 75% domestic malt and 25% imported malt, and also uses 100% domestic hops. Dayue Beanjiao Hutong is located in a residential area, with large trees in the courtyard, rattan tables and chairs, and in summer, almost all drinkers choose to sit in the courtyard, which is a typical Beijing courtyard. The space in the room is very small, a bar counter occupies half of the space, there are bar seats and booths, and it can only accommodate about 20 people at most. Except for a plate of peanuts, the Doujiao Hutong store does not serve any meals, and Dayue provides takeaway orders for snacks from surrounding restaurants, and you can choose to order takeout to the store to make snacks. Dayue Doujiao Hutong store is self-service, if you have higher requirements for service and meals, it is best to choose Dayue Gongti store or Xinyuan Street store. The Gongti Store is the flagship store of Great Leap, with an American-style factory style decoration and a larger store space, which is home to the main brewing equipment, where customers can observe some of the steps of brewing. The Great Leap Stadium store mainly sells American-style burgers, and the beef cheeseburger is one of the most ordered dishes, with plump beef patties and rich cheese, which are large and have classic American characteristics. The Great Leap Burger is also worth a try, as the meatloaf uses an innovative mutton patty, which is not heavy and juicy. The meals at the Xinyuan Street store feature New York-style pizzas, with a thin bottom and large filling, covered with thick homemade cheese, all of which are 16 inches in size, making it a good choice for a large number of people to dine, and the price of a pizza starts at 100 yuan. The three restaurants of Great Leap Beer have different styles, and if you are a veteran drinker who just wants to drink, the Great Leap in Doujiao Hutong can meet your requirements for quiet wine tasting. The Great Leap Workers' Stadium Store and Xinyuan Street Store are more comprehensive, with both fine wine and food, and are a good place for ordinary customers to go on dates and gatherings.
