Due to its focus on exports, Dongtai's English name DTC is more often mentioned, and it is not well-known to the public, but no matter in terms of history, market share or R&D vitality, Dongtai is a well-deserved Chinese hinge leader.
Dongtai was first established in Shunde in 1991, starting from the OEM production of hinges and slides, the current product export rate of about 75%, sales in 106 countries and regions, and in Europe, the United States and Japan and other high-end markets, loyal customers include IKEA, Oppai, Sophia and other well-known brands.
In terms of research and development, Dongtai has more than 1,000 patents, and its adjustable damping force design of one of the pull hinges won the iF award in 2017. This design can be fine-tuned with screws like the three-dimensional adjustment, which is more accurate than Blum's damping switchable and the damping binning adjustment of Salige and Grass, which is currently unmatched by domestic brands.
In October 2016, Dongtai Hardware, as one of the main units, drafted two group standards, "Household Cushion Concealed Hinge" and "Household Cushion Drawer Rail", which were officially released as the first batch of Chinese home hardware group standards. Some of its indicators are even higher than the EU standard, which has become a shot in the arm of China's hardware industry and has been widely reported by the media.
In the comparative experiment of Chinese and European standards, a traction damping hinge of Dongtai was selected as a comparator by the National Furniture Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and competed with a well-known foreign brand damping hinge (anonymous), and passed 100,000 opening and closing experiments. Due to the use of cyanide-free nickel plating, one hinge won in salt spray testing, environmental protection and other projects, and the aesthetics were not inferior to others, and in many other projects it was a draw with the opponent.
Dongtai's hinges have three types: PIVOT-STAR one-fan pull, PIVOT-PRO flexible pull and ordinary hinge, the first two are equipped with engineering plastic dampers, and the same is a two-stage force hinge, weighing about 100g, the difference is that there is an adjustable design with or without damping. The basic models of the two series are sold for 15 yuan and 12 yuan respectively, and the thick door model and the special angle model are not more than 30 yuan, which is only a medium price in the hinge of Chinese brands, and has great competitive advantages such as Hettich, Blum and Saliqi.
One is sold with 30°, 45° and 90° corner cabinets, which is quite good compared to other brands in China that only provide conventional hinges. However, compared with the hardware factories in Europe with a history of 100 years, the breadth of product development and service support are still slightly insufficient, and there are not many self-collected materials, and slightly more complex services need to be communicated by telephone.
