In the early 90s of the last century, Qumei became famous for its advanced bent wood technology, and pioneered the launch of "bent wood furniture", becoming the first enterprise in China to produce bent wood furniture and its supporting furniture. 曲美向来注重产品设计，其在1999年独家买断丹麦设计师Hans Sandgren Jakobsen，同时成立曲美国际设计联盟，吸引了丹麦鹈鹕设计所、法国P&P设计所等国际知名设计所的加入，使得自家产品在外观设计上有了极大的提升。曲美的耳朵沙发、C3椅、涟漪屏风、豌豆公主休闲椅等产品，就曾荣获中国工业设计最高奖项“红星奖 ”，其中耳朵沙发更是夺下“红星奖”金奖，产品设计功力深厚。
