DLS was founded in 1979 as a manufacturer of wireless receivers for the Swedish police and fire departments, before moving to audio equipment development in the 90s. DLS was the fastest growing at the beginning of the 21st century, and as one of the few three-way components on the market at the time, the Iridium series became the 2005 EISA Europe's Best Interior Speaker for its clear and rich listening. At the same time, the Iridium series has also quickly gained recognition in the car audio modification industry, and the flexible active and passive hybrid lines are highly sought after by the modder community, winning several world-class championship awards in IASCA and EMMA competitions around 2005.
 
The comprehensive range has always been the traditional strength of DLS's car audio, including 2-way/3-way systems and coaxial speakers, but the product renewal cycle and competitiveness have decreased compared to before, and the most recent emergence is the Scandinavia series, which won the EISA Best Interior Speaker System in 2010. DLS has been in the Chinese market for more than 10 years, and the general agent is located in Shenzhen.
