In 1907, a young maintenance engineer in Gothenburg, Sweden, Mr. Winquist, was very troubled by the frequent damage of bearings, so he invented self-aligning ball bearings, and successfully founded SKF Bearings in the same year.
Today, SKF has 108 manufacturing sites around the world, sales companies in more than 130 countries and more than 17,000 dealer stores.

About SKF China
SKF has a long history in China. In 1912, five years after Mr. Winquist established SKF, China's first SKF agent appeared in Shanghai. In 1916, SKF set up a sales company in Shanghai, which operated until 1951.
In 1986, SKF re-launched its China operations through its consignment station in Shanghai. In 1988, SKF established a sales company in Hong Kong, named SKF China Limited. Since 1994, the SKF Group has been setting up factories in China. In 1997, SKF (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was formally established and later renamed SKF (China) Co., Ltd., which is the headquarters of SKF in China.
