The history of Yuejin Automobile can be traced back to 1947, on March 10, 1958, it successfully manufactured an earlier light truck in China, named Yuejin brand automobile by the state, and approved the establishment of Nanjing Automobile Factory. On June 21, 1995, the State Economic and Trade Commission agreed to change its name to Yuejin Automobile Group Corporation. On January 1, 2002, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which was funded by Yuejin Automobile Group Corporation, China Cinda Asset Management Corporation and China Huarong Asset Management Corporation, was established, marking the transformation of Yuejin Automobile Group from a wholly state-owned company to a limited liability company composed of multiple investment entities through a debt-to-equity swap. In the same year, Yuejin Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was transferred to Jiangsu Province for management.
On August 28, 2003, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which was jointly funded and reorganized by five companies, including Yuejin Automobile Group Co., Ltd., China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Huarong Asset Management Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Guoxin Asset Management Group Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Transportation Industry Group Co., Ltd., was officially unveiled.
Yuejin car has won many honors such as brand-name products, first-class products, the most satisfactory products for national users, and trustworthy products for consumers, and has been put on the market for more than 1 million vehicles, not only in China as a large number of civilian and military equipment, but also exported to South America, Asia and Africa in batches. At present, Yuejin brand products have expanded from a single Yuejin old product to a new and old Yuejin at the same time, with special chassis, high-speed environmental protection vehicles, modified vehicles, special vehicles, pickup trucks, and multi-functional station wagons.
Dozens of basic models such as light buses, vans, trucks and off-road vehicles produced by Nanjing Iveco Company and various special vehicles such as public security, ambulance, and cash transportation are involved in all walks of life, and are not only adopted by the troops stationed in Hong Kong and Macao and the United Nations peacekeeping forces, but also used as the designated vehicle by the 11th Montreal Conference of Contracting Parties of the United Nations. On March 28, 2004, in order to expand the market, Nanjing Iveco Company grandly launched the new Nanjing Iveco - Torino "V".
After the successful launch of the Palio sedan produced by Nanjing Fiat in March 2002, the Sienna sedan with Italian style was successfully launched in September of the same year. The Palio and Siena models have taken the car world by storm with their Italian style and quality, and have won several model awards. In March 2003, the company introduced the Palio Speedgear and Sienna Speedgear, which are equipped with the world's cutting-edge technology and manual/automatic integrated electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, and in June of the same year, Palio Weekend Wind was unveiled in the Chinese auto market, and in September 2006, Palio was launched. At present, the Fiat compact family car is very popular among consumers.
On July 23, 2005, NAIC successfully acquired MG Rover Automobile Company and its power system company in the United Kingdom, creating a precedent for Chinese automobile companies to acquire foreign automobile companies. On March 27, 2006, the foundation stone of MG automobile project was laid in Nanjing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and on March 27, 2007, MG automobile was successfully rolled off the assembly line, and Nanqi Group walked out of the third road of the development of China's automobile industry - a model in which domestic automobile enterprises own or dominate international famous automobile brands and core technologies in the form of capital operation and other forms, making leapfrog development possible.
On September 14, 2006, Nanqi and Iveco signed an agreement to further deepen cooperation to integrate the business of Nanqi Yuejin and Nanjing Iveco to form a complete product series of light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, and build a first-class commercial vehicle production base in China. After the integration, Nanjing Iveco was officially put into operation on January 1, 2007.
