Founded in 1942 as part of the Sandvik Group, Sandvik Coromant is headquartered in Sandviken, Sweden, with the world's largest carbide insert manufacturing plant in Gimo, Sweden. Sandvik Coromant employs more than 8,000 people worldwide, has a representative presence in more than 130 countries, and has 28 efficiency centers and 11 application centers worldwide. Four distribution centers in the Netherlands, the United States, Singapore and China ensure accurate and fast delivery of products to customers.

Sandvik Coromant is the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of metal cutting tools, with more than 30,000 products covering a wide range of metalworking applications, including turning, milling and drilling. The company has a strong focus on new product development, with R&D investment twice the industry average and more than 600 active patent families. More than 2,000 new products are introduced to the market each year in the spring and autumn in the form of CoroPak.

Sandvik Coromant officially entered China in 1985 and is registered in Shanghai and headquartered in Beijing. After more than 20 years of development, Sandvik Coromant Greater China has developed a well-established service network, with 42 offices, providing products and services to machining companies throughout the country. Sandvik Coromant Greater China has efficiency centers in Shanghai and Beijing, application centers in Shanghai, and training centers in Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shenyang, Wuhan, Nanjing and Hangzhou. The custom tool design center and the custom tool production plant are located in Langfang, Hebei Province.
