In 1942, Paul Stanwell opened a pipe company called "Kyringe". However, after the war, the pipe was named after the surname "Stanwell" – supposedly to make people think it was a British brand! Mass-produced production is a hallmark of Stanwell. Today, the brand produces 150,000 pipes a year, which is comparable to many handmade products under quality control. The products are mainly exported to Germany and the United States, as well as to meet domestic demand. On the one hand, Stanwell is one of the world's premium producers of machine-made pipes; On the other hand, the company has a large number of craftsmen who are responsible for various design and manufacturing tasks, led by Sixten Ivaarsen, known as the Danish pipe maker "Dean". In addition to the "Stanwell" brand, the company also produces a number of "sub-brands", such as: Royal Danish, Royal Guard, Sovereign and so on. In 1982, Paul Stanwell died and the company was acquired. The Stanwell brand, however, continues to supply a large number of quality pipes to pipe smokers around the world.
