Introducing the MastrodePaja brand

MastrodePajalogo

Mastro de Paja is a modern enterprise founded in 1972 as a manufacturer of traditional handmade pipes in Italy, a representative of Italian high-quality pipes, and a modern enterprise dedicated to the production and sales of fine pipes

Mastro de Paja was founded in 1972 in Pezzaro, eastern Italy, a small city on the Adriatic coast, which is one of the centers of pipe manufacturing in Italy. There are many outstanding pipe brands such as Ser Jacapo, Il Ceppo and L'Anatra.

The real history of Mastro de Paja begins in 1985, when Alberto Montini became the manager of this company. Mastro de Paja was founded by Terenzio Cecchini and his friends, both of whom were successful businessmen. As pipe smokers, they wanted to create a brand of premium pipes. The famous Giancarlo Guidi (now owner of Ser Jacapo) was also in charge of production for the company until he left Mastro de Paja in 1982 to found another brand, Ser Jacapo.

Although no one but Kitty had any experience in pipe production at the time, his departure did not cause the company a major dilemma. Until the demand for pipes in Italy dropped sharply and the company had problems functioning. At a critical moment, Chekini finds a new manager for the company's operations who can solve the company's problems, and that is Albote Montini. Albert Montigny was born in 1956 and is an excellent manager. He adjusted his strategy to focus on overseas markets and used quality management to strictly control quality. After several years of hard work, it finally got success. However, in 1994 Chekini disappeared, and no one knew where he was or saw him again. After numerous arguments with his heir, Albote Montigny became the new owner of the Mastro de Paja.

The key to Mastro de Paja's success is that his factory is family-owned. Montini's wife, Kinsia, also worked in the factory, where her main job was to polish pipes; In addition, many of his relatives worked at the factory. Mario Pascucci and Vittorio del Vecchio (both retired) are the main technicians in the factory, and both are close to the Montigny family.

Mastro de Paja pipes keep the tradition of Pezzaro pipes, and they prefer traditional classic styles more than other brands in the city. Their partially coarsened pipes and "Unica" treatment are very unique, which is why Mastro de Paja has been successful in the United States. Mastro de Paja has always produced fine pipes, but at reasonable prices. They use Corsican heather, and the annual output is about 7000~8000 pieces, and the price ranges from 1000 yuan to 10000 yuan. Among them, 1000~1500 are sold in Italy, about 40% are sold to Germany, and a large number are sold to the United States.
