Riley was founded in Manchester in 1897. It started as a boutique offering sports equipment. Thanks to a group of brilliant British craftsmen, Riley further diversified its production in 1912 and established new facilities in Eclinton. By the mid-twenties of the last century, Riley had further developed the Riley brand into a top global snooker brand with creative designs, high-quality materials and flawless production processes. BCE was founded in 1976 as a supplier of coin-operated gaming equipment. In 1980, BCE gradually integrated snooker tables into a diversified production portfolio. Between 1982 and 1992, BCE Westbury snooker tables were used for all levels of snooker tournaments around the world. As a result, BCE has become an important brand in the snooker industry.

In 2002, Stuart Lacey acquired Riley and BCE to form the Riley BCE Group.

At the beginning of 2014, RILEY-BCE Group withdrew the general distribution rights and brand use authorization of the original distributor in Chinese mainland, and officially established a Chinese branch in Shanghai at the end of the year: RILEY-BCE (Shanghai) Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., responsible for the operation of RILEY and BCE brands in China.
