Valve Software is a video game development company based in Seattle, Washington. Its first product, Half-Life, was released in November 1998. Valve went on to develop its subsequent versions and game modes, including Half-Life 2, to great success.

Half-Life, originally titled HALF-LIFE, is a sci-fi first-person shooter video game series developed by Valve Software and first published by Shell Hill in 1998. The original version was for Microsoft's Windows operating system, and later the PS2 version of Sony was developed by Gearbox Software. The game pioneered a new norm for FPS games and started the mod game boom.

Counter-Strike(English: Counter-Strike; CS is a team-based shooter. Produced and launched in 1998 by Valve Software, it is a first-person shooter game that belongs to one of the game mods (mods) of "Half-Life" (Half-Life), the source is the mod of "Quake II" (Quake 2), and most of the original Action Quake 2 contributors joined CS development. The latest version of CS is Counter-Strike: Origins, which was made using Half-life 2's "Source" engine. WCG, CPL, ESWC and other esports all use CS as the competition event.
