Shanghai Haibao Power Technology Co., Ltd. is a battery manufacturer with a long history, formerly known as Shanghai Qiyi Battery Factory, born in the 60s of the last century. For a long time, the company has been committed to the in-depth research and development of electric vehicle power batteries, and in 1993, Shanghai Haibao Special Power Supply Co., Ltd. was founded, becoming the earliest electric vehicle power battery research and development enterprise in China. In April 1993, Hypertherm cooperated with Shanghai No. 2 Bicycle Factory to develop China's first electric vehicle and the first electric vehicle battery, the "Haibao" battery.

In 2012, Haibao battery production base was relocated to Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 350 acres, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, and the scale, production capacity and equipment were comprehensively upgraded. Since its establishment, Haibao New Base has adhered to environmental protection first, strictly abided by national standards, spared no expense to purchase the most advanced international production equipment and environmental protection devices, and the entire production process has realized mechanization, automation, intelligence and cleanliness, truly creating a green industrial production chain. In 2013, the company was the first batch of "double passes" in the environmental protection verification of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China and the access condition audit of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and only 6 enterprises in the country won this honor.
