On October 6, 2014, HP announced that it would spin off the company into two separate Fortune 50 companies, one for PCs and printers and the other for enterprise hardware and services. One of them, called Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, is comprised of HP's leading enterprise technology infrastructure, software, and services businesses. The other is known as HP Inc, which consists of HP's leading personal systems business and printing business. After the spin-off, the new "Hewlett-Packard Company" will still use the current logo. The spin-off is expected to close by the end of fiscal 2015 and will result in HP shareholders owning both Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and Hewlett-Packard Company.
On the other hand, in the Chinese market, the split between HPE and HPI will be officially completed in November 2015, while the split between HPE and H3C is scheduled to be completed in December 2015. HPE, HPI, and H3C will then focus more on their respective fields, and will also become more leading, efficient, and competitive.
