In 2017, SUEZ Group Limited ("SUEZ") established SUEZ NWS Holdings Limited ("SUEZ NWS"), a joint venture with its long-time partner NWS Holdings Limited. As a result, SUEZ will manage all of its operations in Greater China (water operations, water engineering, solid waste resource management) under one joint venture platform. This is a key step in capturing new development opportunities in high-potential growth regions. SUEZ NWS opened the third production line of its hazardous waste treatment plant in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) and inaugurated its R&D center, which will focus on optimizing the hazardous waste treatment process and energy recovery efficiency to support the Group's growth in this fast-growing market in China.
