Development History:
Steelcase was founded in 1912 in Great Falls, Michigan, as the Metal Office Furniture Company.
In 1914, Steelcase received its first patent for the manufacture of the first metal waste paper bucket. It successfully solved the disadvantages of the flammability of traditional straw paper baskets, and was an important innovative product at that time. Subsequently, we developed metal desks on this basis and led the industry with our innovative products and services.
In 1954, the company officially changed its name to Steelcase, and in 1998, it was successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Today, our products and solutions cover the three core elements of the office environment: interior structure, office furniture and technology. For nearly 100 years, Steelcase has embraced the belief that our business decisions, our people and our capabilities come together to create a sustainable business. Promote intercultural inclusion through higher education and partnership projects. As a global company, Steelcase is committed to engaging with people from different cultures.
