In 2016, EVcard and eShare were merged to form Universal Car Sharing, providing electric vehicle rental services in multiple cities

As the first international demonstration zone for electric vehicles in China, Jiading District undertakes the important task of taking the lead in the application and promotion of electric vehicles, infrastructure construction, business model innovation and other fields, and accumulating experience for large-scale promotion.

Compared with traditional car rental, electric vehicle leasing has the characteristics of meeting the needs of short-distance travel, meeting the needs of multiple people with high efficiency, and the distribution of outlets, which can reduce the cost of private use of electric vehicles, make up for the gap in public transportation, reduce the number of motor vehicles, alleviate air pollution and energy conservation and environmental protection, and ultimately achieve sustainable urban development. At present, there are also relatively successful cases and experiences in the world.

This time, Shanghai International Automobile City Group and Tongji University as the main body of the project took the lead in launching an electric vehicle rental service for teachers and students on campus in Jiading. At the same time, it is also hoped that through the rapid promotion of electric vehicles, a new way to alleviate the growing problem of urban air pollution at the root can be solved.
