Founded in 1949, the Teaching Animal Hospital of China Agricultural University is the teaching and practice base for undergraduates and veterinary clinical masters of the College of Veterinary Medicine of China Agricultural University, and in recent years, the Teaching Animal Hospital of China Agricultural University has cultivated and delivered nearly 100,000 outstanding talents for China's veterinary diagnosis and treatment industry.
At present, the teaching animal hospital of China Agricultural University has a practical area of nearly 3,000 square meters, and receives 100-150 cases per day, including many difficult referral cases. In the process of the development of the hospital, we have continuously added advanced equipment and instruments, improved the hardware facilities of the hospital, and established a complete medical team. The College of Veterinary Medicine of China Agricultural University attaches great importance to personnel training, and has had in-depth exchanges and academic exchanges with the University of Tennessee in the United States, the University of Tokyo in Japan, Konkuk University in South Korea and the Veterinary Hospital of Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, contributing to the improvement of the business level of domestic counterparts and becoming a leader in small animal clinical practice in Chinese mainland.
Our hospital includes front desk, surgical outpatient, internal medicine outpatient, traditional Chinese veterinary outpatient clinic, operating room, inpatient department, laboratory diagnosis center, imaging diagnosis center, pharmacy and injection room and pet supplies supermarket, etc., and is in a leading position in orthopedics, ophthalmology, dentistry, laboratory diagnosis, imaging diagnosis, cardiology, anesthesia, oncology and traditional Chinese veterinary treatment. Currently, we have a total of 103 veterinarians and technicians who work with animals, mainly dogs and cats, but also animals such as horses, cows, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, turtles, monkeys and snakes.
In order to better improve animal welfare, we have set up the first anesthesia and analgesia team in China, and each operation is monitored by an anesthesiologist and supporting pain management is carried out to minimize the pain of animals; For each surgical case, we will have regular follow-up visits after surgery to give professional guidance and advice.
In order to allow each hospitalized animal to receive better treatment and care, we develop different nutrition plans according to the animal's body condition and needs to meet the nutritional needs of each hospitalized animal, and at the same time carry out care, so as to facilitate better care and treatment of critical cases; For cases that have been hospitalized and require lifelong treatment, we will give the owner perfect treatment and care suggestions when the animal is discharged, and maintain long-term communication and contact with the owner to better help the owner complete the daily care and treatment of the sick animal.
In order to provide better services for pets and to better play the role of teaching, we organize veterinarians, assistants and students to learn cutting-edge technology and conduct case discussions; At the same time, we will also send personnel to foreign countries for short-term exchanges and learning in a timely manner to ensure that we can serve animals and owners with the best technology. At the same time, our TCM veterinary clinic also undertakes the short-term teaching work of foreign students, and promotes the exchange between the hospital and foreign veterinary students. Every year, we receive many veterinarians to our hospital for short-term learning and exchange.
We will work harder to improve the technical level and service level, while serving animals and owners, train more qualified veterinarians, and ultimately, hope to promote harmony between man and nature with the efforts of all veterinary workers.
