Bank of China Consumer Finance Co., Ltd., established in June 2010, is a subsidiary of Bank of China, headquartered in Shanghai, and is one of the first consumer finance companies approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and the first consumer finance company in Shanghai.

According to the Measures for the Administration of the Pilot Program of Consumer Finance Companies, a consumer finance company is "a non-bank financial institution that does not absorb deposits from the public and provides loans for consumption purposes to resident individuals in China on the principle of small amounts and decentralization", and consumer finance companies mainly provide loans for consumption purposes to resident individuals, such as the purchase of durable consumer goods such as household appliances and electronic products, as well as for personal and family travel, weddings, education, decoration and other consumption matters, but excluding housing loans and car loans.

At present, there are more than 1,000 cooperative merchants and outlets of BOC Consumer Finance, covering nearly 100 cities across the country.
