DEKRA has been committed to safety for more than 90 years. In 1925, the Motor Vehicle Supervision Association (Deutscher Kraftfahrzeug überwachungsverein) was established in Berlin, Germany, and is now a world-renowned third-party professional testing and certification organization.
DEKRA is registered in Europe as Societas Europaea (DEKRA SE Europe S.A.). As a subsidiary of DEKRA e.V. (Association), DEKRA SE manages the Group's business and day-to-day operations.
