Founded in 1890 and with a history of 124 years, Santen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of ophthalmic medicine in Japan, and an international company engaged in the research, development, production and sales of pharmaceutical products. Santen's products entered the Chinese market in 1988. In September 2005, Santen Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd. was formally established and established a wholly-owned factory in Suzhou Industrial Park to produce prescription drugs for ophthalmology.
