The history of Tepe began in 1965 when woodcarver Henning Eklund worked with experts at the Malmö School of Dentistry in Sweden to develop a new toothpick. The innovative wooden toothpick triangular design is the ideal tool for cleaning between teeth.In 1973, Henning's son Bertil Eklund built the first toothbrush, further pioneering the company's vision. Today, 25% of all Swedish toothbrushes come from TePe. The advent of interdental brushes began in the early nineties and quickly became the dominant product of TePe.

TePe still belongs to the Eklund family. Headquarters and all products continue to follow a reliable, flexible manufacturing process.
