Beijing Urban Drainage Group Co., Ltd. is a backbone enterprise of public service in the capital, a special operating enterprise of drainage and reclaimed water facilities in the central urban area of Beijing, the vice president unit of China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association, and the vice president unit of China Environmental Protection Industry Association. The company has total assets of 75.7 billion yuan, owners' equity of 38.1 billion yuan, and 4,700 employees. In the course of more than 40 years of development, Beipai has focused on its main business, core technology and core competitiveness, deployed the innovation chain around the industrial chain, improved the capital chain around the innovation chain, vigorously promoted the development of the Beipai industry, and wholeheartedly provided the overall solutions and personalized menu services for water pollution control for the majority of urban and rural areas and customers, and strived to create a high-quality project that satisfies customers and reassures the government.

In 1993, according to the relevant terms and conditions of the World Bank loan, the Beijing Drainage Company was formally established. In 1997, the second phase of the World Bank's loan was signed, which brought new opportunities for the development of Beijing's drainage industry. At that time, the project analysis report of the Beijing Municipal Drainage Company to the municipal government put forward a proposal to substantiate the Beijing Municipal Drainage Company and promote the good development of the drainage industry. In 1999, the Beijing Municipal Administration Committee issued the Reply on Agreeing to the Implementation Plan for the Establishment of the Beijing Urban Drainage Company, merging and reorganizing the Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant with the World Bank Project Office, the Drainage Company and the Preparatory Office to establish the Beijing Urban Drainage Company.

The original origin of Beijing Drainage Group was the Sewage Station Management Office, which was established in 1973 and was subordinate to the Municipal Engineering Management Office of the Beijing Municipal Engineering Bureau. In November 1976, in order to prepare for the construction of the first phase of the Gaobeidian large-scale sewage treatment plant, the sewage station management office was renamed the sewage treatment research and management institute. In 1982, the Municipal Engineering Bureau submitted the "Task Book on Applying for Approval of the Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant Reconstruction Project" and the "Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant Reconstruction Project Task Book" to the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission and the Construction Commission for approval. So far, the first phase of the Gaobeidian sewage treatment plant has officially started construction after years of preparation. In 1993, the first phase of Gaobeidian Sewage Treatment Plant was completed.
