Founded in June 2005, ReneSola is one of the world's leading photovoltaic manufacturing and sales enterprises, with Zhejiang ReneSola Solar Energy Co., Ltd., Sichuan Ruineng Silicon Materials Co., Ltd. and a number of overseas sales companies. The business includes the manufacture and sales of primary polysilicon, monocrystalline silicon rods, polycrystalline silicon ingots, silicon wafers, manufacturing and sales of cells and modules, photovoltaic system solutions, etc.

In June 2005, ReneSola established Zhejiang ReneSola Solar Energy Co., Ltd., which mainly produces monocrystalline silicon wafers and polycrystalline silicon wafers. In August 2007, ReneSola invested in Sichuan Ruineng Silicon Materials Co., Ltd. in Meishan Aluminum and Silicon Industrial Park, Sichuan, and built a 3,000 tons/year polysilicon project, which has reached full production. In May 2009, ReneSola wholly acquired Wuxi Jiacheng Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd.

By the end of 2011, ReneSola plans to produce 3,500 tonnes per year of primary polysilicon, 1,900 MW of wafers, 600 MW of cells and 600 MW of modules.

In 2006, ReneSola was listed on the London Stock Exchange, raising $50 million. On March 21, 2007, ReneSola successfully issued US$120 million convertible bonds through Deutsche Bank, and in January 2008, ReneSola successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the United States, raising US$130 million, and successfully achieved an additional issuance of US$185 million in June of that year. Through continuous development, ReneSola has successfully built a complete photovoltaic industry chain from primary polysilicon to photovoltaic application systems, casting the industry's best quality photovoltaic brand, and ranking among the world's first-class photovoltaic enterprises.
