Haas Automatic CNC Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Haas Haas, started in 1983, specializes in R&D, production and sales of CNC machine tool manufacturers
Haas Automation is the largest manufacturer of CNC machine tools in the West, producing a range of CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, and rotary table products. The company also manufactures a range of special machines, including 5-axis machining centers, mold machining centers, tool lathes and gantry machining centers. Haas machining centers and rotary tables have been built in the same rigorous style as Mr. Gene Haas, resulting in more accurate, repeatable, and durable machines that far outperform their peers.
In 1983, Gene Haas founded Haas Automation to provide customers with a line of affordable, durable machine tools. The Haas 5C Claw Indexer was an unprecedented success, and over the next four years, the company expanded its product line to cover a wider range of areas, such as programmable rotary tables, rotary indexers, and machine tool accessories.
In 1987, Haas made a new endeavour and developed and produced its first vertical machining center. With this machine, customers can perform a range of operations such as milling, drilling, tapping and boring. Compared to similar imported products, the VF-1 can be called a truly inexpensive machine tool. The first VF-1 was built in 1988 and made its debut at the International Machine Tool Show (IMTS '88) in Chicago, Illinois, in the same year.
At the time, industry pundits and the business press were skeptical of the original U.S. machine, which cost less than $50,000. In terms of price and product, Haas has done what other producers can't. Today, the Haas VF-1 is still sold for less than $50,000, and the lead time for the customer's first order is only a few weeks.
To ensure precision, Haas produces all key components in-house using specialized high-end CNC machines. The company's 1,000,000-square-foot facility uses state-of-the-art, cutting-edge processing methods and state-of-the-art production techniques to increase production capacity and reduce costs. This, combined with the close collaboration of highly trained power engineers and mechanical assembly teams, gives Haas greater control over product quality, production costs, durability and delivery times. As a result, Haas is in a better position to offer its customers a range of low-priced, high-quality machine tools.
More than two-thirds of the nearly 300 machining machines used in the Haas plant are Haas machines – a testament to the company's trust in its products. Haas is constantly adding new processing equipment to increase productivity and machine performance, which enables Haas to maximize productivity, lower product prices, and reduce customer costs.
Today, Haas offers four main product categories: Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), CNC lathes and rotary tables, as well as a range of large 5-axis and special models. All Haas products are machined at the company's large facility in Oxnard, California – the largest and most advanced machine tool production in the United States.
