Founded in 1933 in the United States, it is one of the top ten brands of cranes, integrating aerial work platforms/construction machinery/heavy machinery/material handling and port solutions/material handling, focusing on hoisting and material handling equipment manufacturing enterprises

Terex is a lifting and material handling equipment manufacturer with Aerial Work Platforms, Construction Machinery, Heavy Machinery, Material Handling & Port Solutions, and Material Handling divisions. The products of these five divisions cover nine product categories, including aerial work platforms, mobile cranes, tower cranes, industrial cranes, port equipment, insulated power work equipment, material handling, crushing and screening, and small construction machinery. In the markets it serves, nearly 80% of Terex's products rank among the top in the world; The company has a global presence (40% in North America, 30% in Europe, 30% in other regions), of which 5%-10% of sales revenue comes from China.

Since the establishment of a joint venture in China in 1988, Terex has been committed to business development in China, and has established a number of wholly-owned and joint venture companies in Baotou, Changzhou, Shanghai, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou. Currently, Terex has six manufacturing facilities in China (including Changqi, a minority shareholder), with headquarters in Beijing, regional offices in Shanghai, and more than 20 sales/service offices with approximately 1,600 employees. Terex is a global trusted supplier of "safe production" equipment, and in terms of product standards and construction safety standards, Terex cooperates with the State Administration of Work Safety, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and relevant industry standard-setting institutions to participate in the formulation of relevant standards. Terex actively provides high-tech, low-cost, and green solutions for the construction of pillar industries such as China's industry, transportation and urban construction, and the fourth 3200-ton crawler crane sold in China has successfully signed a contract with Shaanxi Chemical Construction, which has become another milestone for Terex and the entire world crane industry.

Terex also emphasizes product localization and R&D localization, Changzhou factory has now produced Genie's full line of products, the export of Yangtze River cranes has increased significantly year-on-year, Quanzhou factory provides gasoline-electric hybrid mobile material handling equipment that is popular with domestic users, and Zhangzhou factory provides a variety of mobile port machinery and other port equipment. Terex is committed to taking root in China for a long time and developing together with China.

In 1988, Inner Mongolia North Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd., a joint venture with China North Industries Group Co., Ltd. was established with China North Industries Group

In 2006, it entered into a joint venture with Sichuan Yangtze River Engineering Crane Co., Ltd

In 2007, for the first time, it integrated its Demag, Genie and other businesses in China

In 2008, a global procurement center was established in Beijing

In 2008, an aerial work platform production base was established in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province to produce Genie aerial work platform.

In 2009, during the global financial crisis, it merged with the Italian Vantex Group, a leading manufacturer in the field of port equipment, and Xiamen Nuoer Port Equipment Co., Ltd., its Chinese production base in Zhangzhou, and merged into its China business.

In 2010, a joint venture was established with Nanfang Road Machinery Co., Ltd. Terex Nanfang Road Machinery (Quanzhou) Mobile Crushing Equipment Co., Ltd

In 2010, it acquired 65% of the equity of the construction crane manufacturing part of Topeng Group to establish Terex Tuoneng (Shandong) Heavy Manufacturing Co., Ltd

In 2011, Terex established Terex Financial Leasing (China) Co., Ltd

IN 2013, VOLVO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ACQUIRED TEREX EQUIPMENT LIMITED, A SUBSIDIARY OF TEREX CORPORATION, WHICH IS THE SECOND LARGEST SHAREHOLDER OF NORTHERN HEAVY DUTY TRUCK CO., LTD., WITH A 25.16% SHARE.

In 2014, Terex increased its 65% stake in Terex Topeng (Shandong) Heavy Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to 98% and changed its name to Terex Crane (China) Manufacturing Co., Ltd. It is planned to introduce German Demag technology to produce crawler cranes to serve customers in China and overseas markets.
