In 1979, Yanmar Group of Japan provided a full set of rice operation machinery to China, and began to devote itself to the research and development of semi-feed combine harvester products that are most suitable for China's rice harvesting mechanization. In 1985, Yanmar Group participated in the "Rice Operation Project" implemented in Jiangsu Province. In 1995, Yanmar Group established Jiangsu Yanmar Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd. in Jiangyin City to assemble and produce semi-feed combine harvesters suitable for China's national conditions. In 1998, Yanmar Agricultural Machinery (China) Co., Ltd. was formally established and established a factory in Wuxi New District to produce two series of products: semi-feed combine harvester and high-speed rice transplanter.
