Founded in 1978 as a pioneer in thermal imaging technology, FLIR initially focused on infrared imaging systems for in-vehicle energy audits. Today, our advanced systems and components are used in a wide variety of thermal imaging, situational awareness and security fields, including: airborne and ground surveillance, condition monitoring, navigation, entertainment, research and development, production process control, search and rescue, drug control, traffic safety and efficiency improvement, border and maritime patrols, environmental monitoring, and chemical, biological, radiology, nuclear and explosives threat detection.

The company structure consists of 6 operating divisions:

Surveillance Systems Division: Commercially developed, military-qualified (CDMQ®) product models for a wide range of military, law enforcement, and public security agencies, as well as government customers worldwide, to protect borders, military forces, and public welfare.

Test & Measurement Products Division: Supplies the FLIR and Extech brands of equipment for imaging, measuring, and evaluating thermal, gas, and other environmental factors in the industrial, commercial, and scientific sectors.

OEM & Emerging Markets: Supplying third-party camera cores and components for the creation of thermal imaging and other types of imaging systems. At the same time, the division is responsible for the development and production of intelligent transportation systems, hand-held and weapon-mounted thermal imaging systems for customers and law enforcement.

Marine Systems: develops and manufactures electronics and imaging tools for the recreational and commercial maritime markets under the FLIR and Raymarine brands.

Security Systems: Supplies thermal imaging cameras and camera systems for commercial, critical infrastructure, and home security applications under the FLIR and Lorex brands.

Detection Systems: Supplying integrated platform solutions for detecting, identifying, and neutralizing chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear, and explosive threats, supporting military agencies, homeland security, and commercial applications.

FLIR Systems, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of FLIR Systems, Inc. in China, providing sales, marketing and maintenance services to customers in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.
