"Huanxituo" is a Wuhan dialect used to describe people who bring joy to everyone. At the same time, Huanxituo is also a Wuhan snack. This kind of snack called Huanxituo by Wuhan people is called Ma Tuan in northern China, mostly called Ma Yuan in the south, and also called Ma Ball, Oil Heap, and Fried Dump in some places.
The method of sesame balls is much the same, that is, sesame balls fried with glutinous rice dough will have different fillings depending on the region. There are also hemp rounds that are hollow, and Huanxituo is the representative of hollow hemp rounds. Because it is hollow, it has no porcelain solid feeling in the mouth, but is more crispy and refreshing.
In 2004, Wuhan Star Garden Hotel declared "Huanxituo" as "China Famous Point" and achieved success. Since then, Huanxituo, which originally only appeared in roadside stalls, has taken the "high-end" route, and has been sold as a special snack by many restaurants in Wuhan, and the price has doubled from a few cents.
