BERNINI Art Space - Business Reviews

BERNINI is a new concept art complex integrating art, food, café and lifestyle. It is located at No. 206 Nanshan Road. FOR HANGZHOU PEOPLE, BERNINI IS NO STRANGER, IT WAS THE FORMER RESIDENCE OF THE FAMOUS BRIDGE EXPERT MR. MAO YISHENG DURING THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA. IN 2002, BERNINI OPENED ON NAMSAN ROAD, WHICH IS ONE OF THE FIRST CAFES IN THE AREA.

The chef has worked in a two-Michelin-starred restaurant for many years, and has a unique insight and pursuit of food, specializing in the fusion of traditional Western food and novel ingredients to create a new visual and taste experience. One of the classic appetizers is the Bebeni Salad, which features fresh green spinach, quail egg fat and yellow core, fragrant mushrooms and bacon, and beetroot purple and red tomatoes. Another fresh shrimp and avocado salad, the avocado is soft and glutinous surrounded by fresh prawns, which is very refreshing, and caramel slices are placed on the shrimp body, which brings a different flavor to the multiple textures. There is also a Caesar salad, warm seafood salad and asparagus salad, which are sweet and appetizing.

The main dish is seafood cuttlefish juice pasta, selected shrimp, squid and clams, three kinds of seafood ingredients, black and bright pasta is moderately soft and hard, and the ginger cream saffron juice has a pure taste, which is a salty and fragrant pasta that meets the taste of Chinese people. The other porcini risotto is a bit inferior, the porcini mushrooms and cheese do not reflect the rich taste, and the rice is decent, and the whole dish is bland. The most ordered dessert is the signature panna cotta. The white part of the custard is made of coconut milk and topped with passion fruit pieces, giving it a refreshing and sweet taste. Sprinkled with crushed biscuits on the bottom and surrounded by cranberry, blueberry and mint leaves, the presentation is complex but precise. Generally speaking, although the Italian food products of the restaurant are not amazing, they are also remarkable, focusing on the artistic design environment, and its focus is not on the food, and the environmental bonus component is high. Compared to Fine Dining's dinner menu, the restaurant's coffee and afternoon tea offerings are slightly better.

The Bernini project took more than 400 days to design and prepare. The first floor is a cosy dining environment, and the second floor is the Bernini Art Space. Bernini specially hired the famous architect Mattew Lemar from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to create a space with an industrial aesthetic, simple yet stable, modern and artistic charm while preserving the original structure. The overall service level of the restaurant is still in place, the service staff in the outdoor open-air area on the first floor is relatively slow, although the number of people is in place but the enthusiasm is not high, the professionalism of the dishes needs to be strengthened, and the 15% service fee does not match the corresponding high-quality service.
