Founded in 1984, the Department of Plastic Surgery of China-Japan Friendship Hospital is a plastic surgery specialist integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research, a training base for plastic and cosmetic surgery trainees of the Ministry of Health and a training base for injection cosmetic technology, and is also the only plastic surgery unit in China that has a close relationship with the University of Tokyo.

The department has 6 professional groups, including Facial Plastic & Injection Center, Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Center, Comprehensive Rhinoplasty Center, Breast Plastic Surgery Center, Facial Rejuvenation Center, and Craniomaxillofacial Plastic and Aesthetic Center. The Facial Plastic & Injection Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Aesthetic Group") not only specializes in conventional plastic and cosmetic surgery, but also works on various incurable diseases in the field of plastic surgery, such as the use of ePTFE (bulking body) in the beauty team. Bulking body is mainly used for rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation and temple augmentation, and is currently the best artificial material, but it is easy to deform and infect, so the person in charge of the beauty team invented the double rhinoplasty method and the method of preventing postoperative infection. The cosmetic group also cooperated with the Department of Anesthesiology to carry out the painless anesthesia technology of propofol, and added special anesthetics, which can achieve painless effects during and after surgery.

The department uses hyaluronic acid, botulinum toxin, collagen or autologous fat for local injections to achieve the effects of wrinkle removal, face slimming, gummy smile, rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation, temple augmentation, and apple skin beauty. At the same time, the department's laser aesthetic technology is also very developed, including photorejuvenation, pigment spot removal, hemangioma treatment and scar treatment.

The main surgical staff in the department have studied and worked in the United States, France, Japan and other countries, and have considerable clinical experience. Dr. Lu Hui is the head of the Facial Plastic Surgery and Injection Beauty Center, and is also the director of the China Plastic Surgery Association, who is good at injection beauty and the use of bulking, and it is he who invented the method to avoid post-bulking infection and the double rhinoplasty method.
