Founded in 2002, Shenzhen Taoyuanju Sino-Australian Experimental School, formerly known as Shenzhen Tsinghua Experimental School, was jointly founded by the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, Beijing Tsinghua High School, Tsinghua University Primary School and Shenzhen Aviation City Company. In 2016, Tsinghua withdrew from cooperation and changed to Taoyuanju Group to run the school independently, so it changed to its current name. Out of habit, many parents and websites still refer to it as "Tsinghua Experimental School".
Sino-Australian Experimental is a 12-year school, which consists of a public department, a private department (also known as a bilingual department), a high school department, and an overseas department.
