Wuling Light has been selected by Forbes magazine as "the most important car on the planet", because it is this inconspicuous but the number one selling car for many years that undertakes the task of transporting cars for countless small enterprises in China's urban and rural areas. Wuling Light was listed in 2003, and in 2010, the new Wuling Light, a replacement product of Wuling Light, was listed in Jinan. And in 2014, Wuling launched Wuling Light S, and their relationship is similar to that of Wuling Hongguang and Wuling Hongguang S.
Wuling lowered the horsepower of the 1.2-liter engine of the Wuling Hongguang S and placed it on the Wuling Light, and the transmission also used the same 5-speed manual transmission as the Wuling Hongguang. Due to the lighter weight of the Wuling Light, the actual acceleration performance of the two is almost the same, and the suspension has not been additionally designed, so it is difficult to find the difference between the actual handling performance of the Wuling Light and the 1.2-liter Wuling Hongguang.
The biggest difference between Wuling Light and Wuling Hongguang is the interior. If Wuling Hongguang is Wuling's "luxury car", then Wuling Light can only be regarded as a civilian. The interior of Wuling Light is widely fabricated, and compared with the leather fabric of Wuling Hongguang, the grade is reduced and the durability is not strong. The center console of the Wuling Light Practical Type only supports simple radio functions and AUX audio interfaces, and compared with the standard type, the USB interface is reduced, and the functions are relatively simple. Wuling light does not come standard with cold air conditioning, and users have to spend one or two thousand yuan to buy an optional air conditioner. The seats of Wuling Light only have four levels of adjustment, and the padding is on the thin side, and the second-row seats are not equipped with headrests, and the comfort and safety are generally poor.
From the point of view of technical details, Wuling Hongguang and Wuling Light are very similar, so the degree of failure is basically the same. Since all Wuling Light S series are not equipped with airbags and steering assistance, in case of emergency, the safety of Wuling Light passengers is even more worrying.
