The Changhe M50 is the first new car released by Changhe Automobile to join Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. The M50 is based on the BAIC Weiwang M20, and the exterior design of the new car is roughly the same as the Weiwang M20 except for the Changhe logo.
In terms of power, the M50 uses the same 1.5L engine as the Vivan M20, which is a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with VVT technology in the BJ415B series, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, and it also has a 1.4L displacement version.
If you just want to drive slowly on city roads, the M50 is just fine, but if you want to accelerate hard, you'll even need to go down 2nd gear and press the throttle deep for a more immediate power response. M50 has a large number of steering circles, so it is necessary to "pick" the steering wheel on the mountain road with many curves, due to the use of EPS electric power assist system, the steering wheel is not difficult to operate, but the front section of the void is relatively large, and the driver needs to accurately predict the required steering amplitude. The same is true for the brake pedal, which can gradually feel the braking effect only halfway through, which has certain safety hazards.
In terms of suspension, the M50 business class and business class models use different structures. The rear overhang of the business class model is still non-independent leaf springs, while the business class car has a five-link coil spring, so the latter is much more comfortable than the former. There is no noticeable bump in business class when passing through the continuous shock absorbing belt. There will be some jumps in the third row, but passengers will rarely be thrown out of their seats anymore.
Inside, the M50 business class seats are wrapped in flannel, which feels a little stronger than business class, but the actual ride experience is not much different from most of the models on this list. Changhe officials said that the Freda M50 has as many as 20 storage spaces, but what is surprising is that it does not even have a front cup holder.
The 30,000-kilometer M50 often has a sudden increase in fuel consumption, and the official has not given a clear answer. In addition, fragmentary bugs such as the spare tire not being taken off often plague many car owners.
In terms of safety performance, airbags, seat belt unfastened reminders, anti-lock braking, and child safety seat buckles are not available on the regular M50, and they must purchase the "business class version" or the top-of-the-line "business class version".
