Mercedes-Benz Vito 200,000 MPV product evaluation

In the European market, the Mercedes-Benz Vito has always been less well-known than the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which is larger than its size. Mercedes is looking to change this in the near future, because the midsize MPV market is the main battleground for MPVs. The previous generation Mercedes-Benz Vito had a reputation for high quality, but the rear-wheel drive configuration alone disappointed buyers. The current Vito has been given a facelift, offering both front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive configurations, as well as a choice of models with two wheelbases. Of course, it will take some time for these diverse options to fully implement in China.

In Europe, the Mercedes-Benz Vito is regarded as the most affordable MPV. The Mercedes-Benz Vito is a product of Blue Performance Technology, and the most fuel economy is the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine in the 2014 Vito front-wheel drive version, which can have a fuel consumption as low as 4.9 liters/100 kilometers. In fact, the 1.6-litre FWD model will be more than enough for owners who use their vehicles primarily in the city. In comparison, the 2.0T universal displacement of the 16 Vito is on the larger side. The engine has the exact same parameters as the one on the GLC, mated to an enhanced 7-speed gearbox. Due to the weight of the Vito after full load exceeds 3 tons, the handling performance has not been substantially improved, but the fuel consumption has been increased.

Vito and V-class come from the same Victorian production line, and in the hearts of many Chinese people, Vito is the V-class of the long-axis low-profile version. The center console of the Vito also clearly reveals the shadow of the V-class, in order to distinguish it from the previous generation of Vito, the interior space of the new Vito has been significantly changed, the Mercedes-Benz Vito of the 7-seater model, adopts a 2 2 3 seat layout, and the two seats in the second row are designed independently and can be rotated backwards at the same time. Mercedes refuses to install a table that can be used with a tablet or laptop because it could jeopardize driving safety, and since the multimedia entertainment system is also optional, "I won't even have a radio" is a real complaint from many users.

However, the configuration of this car is not blindly shabby, Mercedes has prepared a parking camera with a "coupled zoom" mode for the Vito, which can reach a magnification of up to ten times that of a conventional lens. This is a very clever guidance system that helps the driver park the car smoothly in the corner parking space.

Mercedes-Benz cars have always had a good level of quality, and due to the high degree of technical overlap between the Vito and the V-Class, the reliability of the Vito should be on par with the V-Class. In the JD power2016 annual survey of 100 new cars, Mercedes-Benz had 135 failures. The industry average is 152 times. In 2014, 115 times, the industry average was 116 times. In 2012, it was 96 times, compared to an industry average of 102 times, which reflects Mercedes-Benz's car-making technology from one side.

Mercedes-Benz has never been stingy with piling up safety kits, and although the Vito is a "European budget car", it is also very safe, and it participated in the A-NCAP crash test in 2014 and received a five-star safety rating.
