As early as the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, Dongfeng Fengxing CM7 was officially unveiled, but since then Dongfeng Fengxing has been improving it, and it was not until 2014 that the CM7 was officially launched. The current CM7 has become the third sub-brand of Dongfeng Fengxing in parallel with Lingzhi and Jingyi.
 
After the 2018 facelift, the CM7 left only a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine was eliminated, and it was equipped with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission except for the manual transmission. The 2.0T engine on the CM7 is 4G63S4T, which is a semi-independent research and development engine, manufactured by Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi, and is still using a single camshaft, the technology is a generation behind, and the turbo lag is also very serious.
 
The low torque of this engine is obviously weak, before the turbo intervenes, although smooth, but the power is insufficient, when the turbine establishes positive pressure, the power will suddenly burst out, so there is always a feeling of jumping out when driving at low speed or moving the car. Fortunately, it is matched with a ZF 6AT gearbox, which is not advanced, but it is very mature, and the ride is sufficiently guaranteed, which makes up for the defects of the engine to a certain extent.
 
Inside, the mid-row seats are naturally the CM7's core selling point, and the mid-row seats come standard with all-electric adjustment. The middle row seats also support 180-degree reclining and flat reclining, allowing middle row passengers to completely relax when no one is sitting in the third row. As for the normal riding space, it is definitely large enough, and the maximum knee room in the middle row can reach 53cm, which allows passengers to stretch freely.
 
Dongfeng Fengxing CM7 is not a worry-free car, many owners will find that the steering of CM7 will suddenly be out of alignment, and the CM7's engine is also very fragile, in addition to frequent shaking, after turning on the air conditioner, the power will decline significantly.
 
In terms of safety equipment, the 2.0T model is already equipped with ESP body electronic stability system as standard, and only the top-of-the-line flagship model has a 360-degree panoramic view, mid-row entertainment system and other equipment. The mid-range Premium Edition retains the all-electric mid-row VIP seats. The low-profile luxury type is relatively a bit inferior in terms of configuration.
