SAIC Maxus G10 150,000 MPV product evaluation

SAIC MAXUS is the commercial vehicle subsidiary of SAIC Group, and the model most closely related to consumers is naturally the MPV model - SAIC MAXUS G10.

In addition to the addition of a 1.9T diesel engine in 2016, the G10 has no changes to the old 2.0T and 2.4L gasoline engines, and the 2.0T engine is also equipped with MG Ruiteng. The engine is mated to a ZEUF 6-speed automatic manual gearbox. In rear-wheel drive and turbocharging, the G10 accelerates to 100 km/h in 10.22 seconds when unloaded, which is faster than most models in this sequence. It's just that this 2.0T engine is in the range below 2000rpm, and the power output is very lazy. At the same time, the fuel consumption indicator has to be raised, even if cruising at high speed, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers will easily exceed 13 liters.

G10 is a rear-drive MPV with girders, the front MacPherson rear five-link non-independent suspension, the tuning style is more like a commercial vehicle than an MPV, the suspension tuning is overall hard, although the support has been improved to a certain extent, but the sense of cushioning and isolation are deviated, tire noise is easy to transmit into the cabin, coupled with the wind shear sound in the rear row, the G10 cabin will be full of wind noise and tire noise.

The SAIC Maxus G10 has a longer wheelbase than the Buick GL8 and a body height of more than 1.9 meters, and even if the girder raises the entire floor very high, the cabin can easily accommodate seven adults, and the third row of seats also has plenty of head and knee room. The G10's second-row seats sit on the high side, with plenty of support on the thighs and a large range of adjustments. In the third row of seats, the G10 offers a three-point harness and separate headrests for the middle seats, while the GL8 has only a two-point harness and no central headrest.

Models of this class will not open a significant gap in terms of quality, and the craftsmanship level of SAIC Maxus G10 is not good. As far as SAIC Maxus G10 complaints are concerned, engine idling is unstable, the side sliding door cannot be closed, and the body shake is the most common complaint, but in the core components, Maxus has no annoying quality problems.

The G10 likewise does not participate in any form of crash testing, so its safety cannot be accurately measured. The G10 is equipped with main and auxiliary airbags as standard, which is not a loss in terms of price.
