Since its launch in 2001, the cumulative sales volume of Lingzhi has exceeded 600,000 units by 2016. The Lingzhi series covers the MPV product line of 6-200,000 yuan. Lingzhi M5 is the successor of Lingzhi F500. In the Lingzhi family, the M5 is the model with the highest positioning, focusing on the mid-range business MPV. The entry-level low-end commercial MPV and 9-seater passenger car are in charge of the Lingzhi M3 and V3. To the higher-end MPV named CM7.

 

The Lingzhi M5 is mainly a 1.6L manual model. After the gearbox is reasonably tuned, there will be no feeling of lack of power within 60km/h, and the only drawback is the relatively long shift travel. Due to the small displacement, acceleration up to 90 km/h takes a long time. The old Lingzhi is very stiff in terms of shock filtration, and Lingzhi M5 has made a lot of progress in this regard, and the manhole cover that cannot be avoided is no longer a threat to Lingzhi. Although Dongfeng Fengxing has repeatedly said that Lingzhi has made a lot of optimizations in NVH, the noise of the engine will still easily penetrate the chassis, and the driver will also feel the resonance from the platform after stepping on the accelerator, and the rough shock absorption effect is exposed.

 

Despite the high ground clearance, the Lingzhi does not cut the legroom of the passenger too much. The storage space of Lingzhi M5 is much larger than that of the old Lingzhi, compared with Baojun 730 and other family-oriented MPVs, it is the advantage of Lingzhi to be able to carry passengers and pull goods. If it is not optional, there is not even a radio on the center console, and the USB port below has naturally become an ornament. The rear row is only equipped with an air conditioning outlet at the armrest box, and in actual operation, the defect of the air conditioning knob damping is obvious. As a large car, Lingzhi's storage space is relatively rich, and the front, middle and rear are evenly distributed, which can be satisfying.

 

According to a comprehensive survey conducted by JD Power (China) in 2014, Dongfeng Fengxing's overall quality status is only two stars, which is at the middle and lower level among domestic cars.

 

In terms of safety equipment, only the M5L comfort and luxury models have airbags, and compared with other brands, Lingzhi's safety equipment is not rich.
