Range Rover luxury brand mid-to-large SUV product review

Range Rover has always positioned itself as a luxury SUV. Judging from the manual, the Range Rover has a lot of luxury features, and the Porsche Cayenne can't compare to it, and the top-of-the-line Range Rover is equipped with features that can even compete with the Bentley Bentayga. Even so, the US Consumer Reports only gave Range Rover an overall rating of 58 points.

With its powerful power, Range Rover is able to easily deliver a lot of sensory stimulation. Land Rover's all-terrain adaptation system does improve the car's sense of stability, but the overall softer suspension doesn't encourage intense driving. Unlike other Land Rovers, the Range Rover's power delivery is unusually linear, but the throttle is its biggest flaw. The electronic stability control seems to be very unconfident, and as soon as the gear changes it can't wait to make the whole car "stabilize", making people mistakenly think that they are driving a truck. Overall, while the Range Rover has a promising acceleration result, it is far less fun to drive than competitors such as the Audi Q7.

Range Rover's shock absorption and quietness are in line with the "luxury" positioning, but the ride experience is still frustrating. The pilot's seat has a sense of being on top of the air, and the audio and air conditioning knobs are so complex that one suspects you're flying an airplane. The screen is bright and the resolution is high, but the feedback is slow. Range Rover has concentrated all the space and comfort in the rear seat, which is quite spacious in its class. Unlike competitors such as the Land Cruiser, the Range Rover does not have a third row of seats.

Consumer Reports doesn't have a full range of Range Rover failure statistics, but it still predicts Range Rover's reliability – the worst. As with other Land Rovers, major components such as engines and gearboxes can break down on a large scale within three years.

Range Rover does a decent job when it comes to security. In 2012, Range Rover received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test, with 91% protection for adult passengers. But in the more rigorous IIHS crash tests, there was no Range Rover rating.
