Lincoln MKX luxury brand mid-to-large SUV product review

The third-generation MKX is a relatively successful SUV of the Lincoln family, which shares the platform with the Ford Edge, and has become much more luxurious and agile instead of the usual bland interior style and driving experience.

The MKX's 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has spread over many domestic Ford models, but the acceleration time of 100 kilometers is only 7.3 seconds, which is not much of an advantage in engines of the same specification, but fortunately, there is no obvious turbo frustration in the initial stage. Disappointingly, in the U.S. Consumer Reports test, the engine only ran 18 mpg (13.0 l/100 km) of fuel consumption, which is more expensive than most competitors in its class. Today, when competitors are "upshifting", the Lincoln MKX insists on using a six-speed gearbox, and only Lincoln himself may know what the purpose is. The Ford Edge has made great strides since a series of stabilization systems were transferred to the Lincoln MKX, showing the firmness of a big car in successive corners.

The Lincoln MKX has a lot of room in the front, but the cushions are too short, and the driver's legroom is slightly smaller, while the rear passengers get a pleasant ride. The position of the function keys on the center console is well designed, but there are often some system errors. Due to the high seat cushions, rear visibility has been severely affected, but fortunately, the rearview camera has become standard. In terms of silence, thanks to the ANC active noise cancellation system, the American "Consumer Reports" believes that the Lincoln MKX has been able to reach the same excellent level as the Lexus RX350.

The Lincoln MKX did not make any major mistakes in the design of the powertrain, and the quality of the engine and transmission of the '08 MKC was still above average. But solving the trouble of the circuit system is a long-standing problem for Lincoln, and the circuit performance of the three-year-old Lincoln MKX will suddenly deteriorate. In addition, braking problems are also one of the most headaches for car owners. As a result, Consumer Reports believes that the overall reliability of the Lincoln MKX is lower than the industry average.

In the IIHS safety evaluation, the Lincoln MKX received the highest safety rating of the same type of car in 2007.2008.2009.2011.2012.2013. TSP was obtained in 2016 after the addition of an active safety system. In 2017, the IIHS raised the certification bar and only received the TSP due to the "worst" performance of the Lincoln MKX lights, with no "".
